Terms of service

What WaggleFinder is

WaggleFinder is a directory of pet services, such as vets, groomers, sitters and trainers, with reviews from pet owners. We don't provide pet care ourselves: the businesses listed are independent, and we don't endorse them. Listings can be out of date or wrong, so check opening hours, prices and anything important with the business before you rely on it.

Blog posts are general information, not veterinary advice. Ask a vet about your pet's health.

Your account

• You need to be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• Give your real name and an email address you use, and keep your password to yourself.
• You're responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else has used it, change your password and tell us.

Reviews

Reviews help other pet owners, so they have to be honest. When you write one:

• Describe your own, real experience with the business. You can review each business once.
• Don't review a business you own, work for or compete with, and don't write a review in return for payment, a discount or anything else.
• Keep it about the business: no insults, threats, hate, or personal details about other people.
• Don't post anything illegal, or anything you don't have the right to share.

Reviews are public, with your first name and last initial. Anyone can report a review that breaks these rules, and we may remove it.

Listings and claims

• Listings you add should be for real businesses, with accurate details. Moderators check them before they appear, and we may edit them, combine them with other listings or remove them.
• Adding a listing doesn't make it yours. To manage a listing, claim it.
• Only claim a business you own or are allowed to act for. We check claims before approving them, and may take away access that was gained by pretending.

What you post

You keep the rights to the reviews, listing details and photos you post. By posting them, you allow WaggleFinder to store and show them on the site, and to adjust their format, such as resizing photos. This ends when they're deleted, except for listing details, which may stay on the site.

Pet photos are private: we store them and show them only to you, unless you share one in the public gallery, where anyone can see it. We may take a shared photo out of the gallery. Only upload photos you took, or have permission to use.

Using the site fairly

Please don't:

• break the law, or help anyone else to;
• post spam, or pretend to be someone else;
• copy the directory in bulk, or use bots to collect listings or reviews;
• try to get into other people's accounts, or to get around our security or limits;
• misuse reports or claims, for example against a competitor.

Our content

The site's design, text and blog posts belong to WaggleFinder or the people who licensed them to us. You're welcome to read and share links to them, but not to copy them in bulk. Maps use data from OpenStreetMap contributors.

When things go wrong

If something on the site is wrong, harmful or uses your work without permission, report the listing or review, or email us at info@wagglefinder.com. We may remove content, and suspend or close accounts, that break these terms.

Our responsibility

We work to keep WaggleFinder accurate and running, but we provide it as it is, without promises that it will always be available, complete or correct. As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for:

• the services businesses provide, what they charge, or how they treat you or your pet;
• what other people post, such as reviews;
• losses that come from relying on information on the site.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law that can't be taken away.

Leaving

You can stop using WaggleFinder at any time. To have your account deleted, email us; what happens to your information is in our privacy policy.

Changes

We may change the site, and these terms. When we change the terms, we'll update this page and the date at the top, and tell you on the site or by email if a change is important. If you keep using the site after that, the new terms apply.
